Date syrup is also known as date honey. It is simply the juice obtained from the fruit of the date palm, or dates. Can date syrup be consumed without restrictions? Can you make it yourself at home? You can do it and we even give you a recipe, but beware - date syrup should not be consumed too often.
Date syrupis quite thick, with a beautiful brown or brown-golden color. It is also called date honey. It is open to the public, but it is a permanent element of Asian and North African cuisine, not Polish. We can buy it in stores, but we can also make it ourselves. It is not difficult - the syrup, both on a mass scale and at home, is made from the fruits of the date palm, i.e. dates.
Date syrup, due to the fact that it is made of processed dates, loses some of the he alth properties characteristic of the fruit of the date palm. The biggest difference is the lack of dietary fiber in the syrup - that's why the sugars (fructose and sucrose) in it are quickly absorbed into the blood, and the sugar level jumps sharply. For this reason, date syrup is not recommended for diabetics.
Date syrup - what's in
It contains minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium (responsible for the proper functioning of the circulatory system and muscle function) as well as vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E, which help build immunity and reduce oxidative stress by destroying free radicals.
Date syrup also contains B vitamins, which supports the work of the nervous system. In dates there are substances that are the equivalent of salicylates contained in aspirin, so date syrup may have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticoagulant and analgesic properties. Remember, however, that dates lose a large part of their properties during thermal processing.
