No sea water can match the variety of minerals it contains. Their richness means that swimming in the sea has a great effect on our body. Find out which diseases help the sea.

The Seais a huge, well-stocked laboratory containing nearly all the chemical elements found on earth - some as soluble s alts, others as insoluble slurry. And it is the richness of these substances that makessea waterso beneficial to he alth and beauty.

However, let's face it, the B altic Sea is not a paradise for sunbathers. It is difficult to lie flat when it is constantly blowing and the sun is hiding behind the clouds. But it is perfect for long walks along the coast (and on exotic beaches there are often insurmountable obstacles for walkers - rocky cliffs, rocky coast and … private area). Although the weather is more stabilized at the end of summer than it was at the beginning, you can still run into rain. But don't get stuck in the walls, come out into the air. Take an umbrella or raincoat and rain boots. Just remember not to wear them for too long, because warmth and moisture favor athlete's foot.

A bath in the sea soothes the skin, rejuvenates and slims it

Sea water is perfectly tolerated and absorbed by our skin. Why? Because its composition is similar to the amniotic fluid in which the fetus develops, and the average concentration of minerals contained in it is similar to that found in human blood serum.

As a result, the mineral components of the water penetrate deep into the pores of the skin and cleanse it. In addition, they stimulate cellular metabolism - they improve skin hydration and blood supply, and thus the supply of oxygen and nutrients. The condition of elastin and collagen fibers also improves, so skin tension and elasticity increase. Simply put, the skin becomes younger. It doesn't happen overnight, but a 2-3-week vacation by the sea will take us many years. The treatment can be continued at home, using cosmetics containing sea s alt. Let's just remember that you should not run into the water, but immerse yourself in it gradually, so that the body has time to adapt to the lower temperature. After the bath, you should always rinse your body (and hair) thoroughly in the shower - sea water thick with s alt and other minerals, drying on the skin, causes dehydration.

Our good-natured B altic Sea has another advantage - bathing in it is a great way to lose excess weight. This is due both to the mineral composition of the water and its relatively low temperature. As a result, the bath improves blood circulation and boosts metabolism.

Important

Can water and sea mud really heal a difficult-to-control disease likepsoriasis ? Scientists confirmed this more than half a century ago on the basis of observations of patients who regularly used sea baths during their stay at the Dead Sea and used black mud compresses. The effects were visible after 4 weeks. In 40.5 percent patients (out of 20 thousand!), the symptoms of the disease have completely disappeared, and in 31 percent. psoriatic lesions remained only on a small area of the body (up to 1%). Thus, more than 70 percent. of patients, the condition of the skin improved without the use of pharmacological agents. This is the effect of sea minerals: there was a significant increase in the level of magnesium, calcium, potassium and bromine in the skin, which improved its condition. Magnesium ions are especially important in this process because they activate the enzyme that inhibits the excessive cell division in the skin.

Seaside iodine-ozone feast

More frequent storms in the B altic Sea also have a beneficial effect on he alth. Immediately after the storm, the air is saturated with ozone, which is produced during the discharges. Ozone, or activated oxygen, has strong bactericidal properties (therefore it is used in devices to remove odors, mites, fungi and molds). To inhale ozone, you need to go for a walk as soon as the thunder stops, because this gas rapidly decomposes into ordinary oxygen.

The seaside air is also rich in iodine, which is lacking not only in patients with hypothyroidism, but also in people living in regions poor in this element (mainly southern Poland). Pregnant women should spend their holidays at the seaside, because in this period the demand for iodine increases.

A walk by the sea strengthens the veins, toughens and calms down

Waving, cool water massages the body, constricts blood vessels, and has a toning effect on the circulatory system and the nervous system. Wading in the sea is relaxing. It is also a great anti-varicose therapy! S alt water improves blood flow in the legs (helps to press it upwards), makes the walls of the veins more flexible. It is also a very effective way to improve the body's immunity. It is best to start with getting your feet wet and walking along the seashore, then walk with your feet below the knees. From time to time we should go out onto the dry sand to warm our feet.

Dead Sea

Dead Sea includes10 times more minerals and trace elements than any other water, and eight times more saline than the Mediterranean, Pacific or Atlantic. However, this unique composition of the water results from the fact that the Dead Sea is a sea only in name. It's actually an inland s alt lake.

Sea water - unpalatable but not poisonous

There is a common perception that seawater is not potable. Indeed, it is unlikely to quench your thirst because it is high in sodium. Moreover, the high concentration of chloride, sulphite and carbonate anions gives it an unpleasant, intensely bitter or s alty-bitter taste. However, a person can drink up to 1 liter of sea water a day without any harm to he alth.

Anti-cataract treatment

It is a combination of hardening baths with inhalations strengthening the respiratory system. The best time for them are mornings (especially on windy days and after storms), because then the clean air is most saturated with sea spray. First, just dip your feet in the water and splash your hands down to the knees with your hands; then we go a little deeper, rub water on the thighs and abdomen. Finally, we descend to the waist and massage the shoulders and chest. Such a bath should last 5-10 minutes. After it, we wipe vigorously, put on warm clothes and set off on the beach for at least a 15-minute walk. If the day is really cold, it's worth taking a thermos with hot tea with you.

Sea in the bathtub

Sea s alt (also with the addition of algae) can be purchased at a drugstore and thus conduct sea treatment at home. It is easy to make a cleansing and firming scrub from such s alt (mix a tablespoon of s alt with two tablespoons of vegetable oil). However, we can do brine bath 2-3 times a week; it should last 10-25 minutes. Then you need to lie down for 20 minutes and rest.
