Cases are examined by 16-person committees appointed by voivodes, consisting of doctors and lawyers. Such a commission may respond to the matter faster because, unlike the prosecutor's office, it does not look for the guilty during a trial. The only task of the commission is to ascertain whether the patient has actually suffered harm. Therefore, this solution is beneficial in cases where the investigation would take months and it would be impossible to find out who was at fault and when.
Compensation for nosocomial infection step by step
- you can only complain about medical incidents that took place in the hospital
- you must resign from the simultaneous fight for compensation in court
- you can submit an application to the commission within one year from the date on which it turned out that you were infected, but no later than three years from the infection itself
- you will pay PLN 200 for submitting the application to the account of the voivodeship office
- when the committee rejects your application, you will pay for the costs of the proceedings out of your own pocket, which are difficult to determine in advance; Approximately, you can pay about PLN 2,000 for one session: the cost of an expert opinion is PLN 300-450; just over PLN 400 for each member of the committee for participation in the meeting;
