Winter walks with a child are a real challenge. Finally, frost came and it snowed. Children are crazy with happiness, but we, moms, wonder how to protect them from the cold, without taking away the joy of white madness. When is it too cold to take a walk with your baby? How to dress a child for a walk in winter?

A winter walk with a childcauses dilemmas among many mothers: is it not too cold for a walk, how to dress the child so that it does not fall ill. If you follow a few rules, a walk will not only hurt him, but on the contrary, it will strengthen his immune system and harden the body. The mass of new impressions stimulates mental development, the cool air improves circulation and appetite, and cleans the respiratory tract of microbes.

Winter walk: go out or not out with the baby?

Pediatricians believe that with a child up to 6 months old, you can go for walks down to -5ºC, provided of course that it is he althy and there is no storm outside. If the weather prevents you from leaving the house, you are left with a porch. You dress your baby up for a walk and put her in a stroller near an open window or balcony. You do this also when your baby is born right now in winter - the first porch lasts about 10 minutes, then longer and longer, until you reach half an hour.
When your baby is already walking and he althy (runny nose) and a slight cough do not count), you can walk in a little cooler (down to -8ºC), but again provided the wind is not too strong. However, if you still prefer to see the world from a pram, dress them a little warmer and check that they're not cold more often.

A winter walk with a baby: the onion is the basis

The air accumulating between the individual layers additionally insulates against the cold. If you want your baby to be neither too warm nor too cold, dress it as you would yourself. Remember, however, that an infant in a stroller does not actually move, so it needs an additional blanket. Many mothers believe that in the case of the youngest, lighter clothes and additional blankets - one for the bottom, two for the top - are better than the coveralls, which make it difficult to move around. On the other hand, it is the overalls that are ideal for older children - they allow you to avoid "bare kidneys". When you have to enter, for example, a shop during a walk, fromunbutton the child's jacket and take off the hat immediately.

Important

How to check if your baby is cold?
Touch the skin on the back of the neck - if it's cold or sweaty, it's time to go home.

Frost pinches ears, bites hands and feet

The structure of the scalp causes that we lose 30-40% of heat through it. Therefore, it is impossible to leave the orphanage without a hat. The best are balaclavas that also protect the ears and throat. However, remember to adjust their thickness to the temperature, because sweat-wet hair under the cap is a ready problem. Mitts better protect against cold. In order not to get lost somewhere in the heat of fun, sew them on to a ribbon that you will thread through the coat hanger. Shoes should be waterproof and at least half a size larger so that the child can move their fingers freely.

Lubricate your face

Baby's skin is very delicate and sensitive, so it requires special protection. Get a special winter cream for kids - it's not only fatter and creates a thicker protective layer - it also has sunscreen. This is important because even if the sky is cloudy, it does not mean that UV radiation is not harmful to young skin. Before you spread the cream on, wash and wipe the baby's skin thoroughly. Don't forget to smear your lips. Take the cream with you, little ones often lick their lips and they will definitely need some corrections during the walk.
