How to make a French manicure?

I would like to get a French manicure, but I don't know how to do it and what is needed for it. Please, help me with this.

Dorota Morawska:Start by cleaning the skin around the nail plate. If your nails have become very dirty, for example when peeling vegetables, you can whiten them with lemon. Cut it into two halves and dip your fingertips for 15 minutes. Later, smear the skin with cream or olive oil. For the next part you will need:

- a bowl filled with warm soapy water, - a wooden stick, - a paper file, - conditioner.

First, soak your nails in soapy water for 15 minutes. Then very gently remove the peel with a stick. Better not to cut them yourself, as it requires a lot of practice. A small morning done with non-disinfected pliers can turn into a brace. Now file your nails with a file. Model only their smile line, i.e. the very tip. Avoid sawing on the sides, because the edge of the nail, which is removed from the cuticles, is very susceptible to damage. The next step is to degrease the nails - use salicylic alcohol or nail polish remover (first check the label if it does not contain oil). You can now pull the conditioner on the nails and leave them there or apply the varnish. Remember to never apply it directly to the nail plate. There must be a layer of conditioner or a special primer underneath - otherwise the plates will turn yellow.

To make a French manicure you will need:

  • nail conditioner that acts as foundation base,
  • twovarnishes - one white covering the tip of the nail, the other transparent pink or beige,
  • varnish hardener.

Useful:

  • self-adhesive strips to help you precisely paint over the white tip,
  • white pencil, to color the nail from underneath,
  • varnish corrector - thanks to the bevelled tip, it enables precise and easy corrections of the varnish on the nails after they have been painted. Removes excess varnish like an eraser (after use, the tip should be cleaned with a tissue).

How to make a French manicure?

1. You can massage a special olive into the cuticles to soften them. Clean the nails from the remnants of varnish, degrease them with an acetone-free remover.

2. Paint your nails with one coat of colorless conditioner or base varnish.

3. Cover the tips of the nails with white, opaque paint. If you are skilled, do it without assistance, when you do not have - on each nail below the white tip protruding beyond the fingertip will stick a protective strip, which will allow you to precisely paint over the protruding part of the nail.

3. When the varnish dries - gently peel off the protective strips.

4. Paint the entire nails with two layers of natural nail polish.

5. To extend the durability of the manicure, cover the nails with a hardening varnish, which often also speeds up drying.

  • Some ladies, despite the use of protective strips, fail to precisely paint the tip of their nails. A crayon was invented for them, which can be colored on the underside of the protruding part.
