I have quite wide set pelvic bones and accumulated fat on them, besides flat buttocks and massive thighs. I was thinking about signing up for a dance, and more specifically for samba. Will it help me improve these body parts, especially shedding fat on my hips?

Dancing is a very good type of "training" that helps to burn fat around the hips and abdomen. It is an excellent aerobic training and it engages the muscles of the abdomen, back, buttocks and legs. If you can choose from various styles and types of dance, Latin American dances such as: samba, cha-cha, rumba are the most appropriate.
