I currently weigh 63 kg at 161 and would like to be around 55/57. How to exercise in order not to build muscle but to get rid of adipose tissue? While exercising with dumbbells, I noticed that my muscles were building up and my hands were still covered with fat. I also have a stepper and exercise several times a week. Is one type of exercise enough to slim your legs?

Kasia, in order to get rid of fat tissue, you should do aerobic exercises lasting 40-50 minutes at least 3-4 times a week. It can be the stepper you mentioned, but also walking, cycling, aerobics, swimming, etc. If you exercise with dumbbells weighing 1-2 kg, you will strengthen your muscles, but not build them too much. It is simply too light a weight to visibly increase muscle mass. So you can exercise with dumbbells without fear, because the muscles will give your body a nice shape and improve skin firmness. Remember that by exercising with dumbbells, you also "convert" fat into muscle and burn excess fat. Aerobic exercise is also needed to slim down the legs. Unfortunately, adipose tissue is often unevenly distributed in our body, but we burn it evenly from each part at a time. So with systematic aerobic training, you should also notice a decrease in its decrease in the area of ​​the hips and thighs.
