Robert Korzeniowski will face the Polish edition of extreme steeplechase for the first time. He will take part in Runmageddon Ptak Warsaw Expo and overcome the 6 km long Recruit formula full of over 30 obstacles.
The four-time Olympic champion in February this year decided to start in Runmageddon Caucasus. Intrigued by the new formula of extreme running outside Poland, he decided to take up the challenge and cover 120 kilometers through the picturesque Georgian mountains.
Overcome obstacles
In April, right after the shoulder injury has healed, he started training under the supervision of a Runmageddon trainer, and on the weekend of May 25-26 he will run for the first time in the Polish edition of extreme steeplechase. The start at Runmageddon Ptak Warsaw Expo will be a great opportunity to get to know the taste of an extreme challenge and to face runmageddon obstacles. The Olympian will face the task of overcoming, inter alia, the following structures: Multirig, Oponeo, Balancer, or Fireman and adventure obstacles such as Iceberg, Jumping Pits or a Carpet of Tires.
This is the fifth edition
Runmageddon Ptak Warsaw Expo will be the fifth edition of the extreme obstacle run in Poland. The next ones will be held in Gdynia (June 8-9), in Country Park Pod Gajem (June 22-23), near Poznań. In July, the extreme steeplechase race will take place in Gliwice (6-7.07), and in August: in Szczecin (3-4.08) and Łódź (17.08). Runmageddon JSW S.A., KWK "Knurów-Szczygłowice" (30.08-01.09) will say goodbye to holidays, and in September it will be the turn of Runmageddon Caucasus. Extreme numbers
Runmageddon is the largest cyclical obstacle course in Poland and the most extreme in Europe. The struggles take place in several locations a year. Last year, nearly 79,000 people took part in 20 events, including 67,000 adults and 12,000 children. Since the beginning of the series, over 180,000 participants have reached the finish line of the events. In 2022, Runmageddon began its international expansion by organizing the first obstacle course in the Sahara and the Caucasus Mountains.
The specificity of this form of activity liesprimarily for fun, but it also allows you to test yourself. Thanks to the enormous physical and mental effort in which you overcome your weaknesses and only then your rivals, the participants will get to know their maximum abilities.
They have different sections of the route with obstacle courses to cover - they climb, crawl, wade in the mud, jump, and aim at water and fire. There are four formulas to choose from - INTRO (3 km and 15+ obstacles), RECRUIT (6 km and 30+ obstacles), CLASSIC (12 km and 50+ obstacles) and HARDCORE (21 km and 70+ obstacles).
