On June 8, World Oceans Day is celebrated and that is why this Saturday, adidas Runners Warsaw invites you to another large running event, starting the educational and pro-ecological week in the ARW community. The event is part of a global initiative in which for every kilometer run between June 8 and 16, recorded by the Runtastic app, adidas will donate $ 1 to Parley Ocean School.
Due to the global campaign, adidas Runners will host numerous pro-ecological events around the world.
Vistula routes
The Warsaw event will start on June 8 at 10:00 at adidas Runners Warsaw (Solec 38). Visit this place a bit earlier to get familiar with adidas x Parley educational resources related to the fight against plastic pollution.
The base is only a starting point - the trainers will guide the participants along the Warsaw boulevards, and everyone willing will have a choice of two routes: 5 km and 10 km. For those who do not run every day, this shorter route has been specially prepared.
The destination of the run will be "Plażówka Saska" on the Vistula River, where in addition to the broadly understood chillout and refreshing drinks and snacks, you will be able to participate in workshops referring to and encouraging pro-ecological activities.
Zero waste in practice
Daria Ładocha will be waiting on the beach to talk about the principles of Zero Waste Cooking. The theory will be immediately applicable in practice, as runners will have the opportunity to prepare and try three different dishes.
The workshops will be accompanied by a DIY zone, where each participant will have the opportunity to create their own Run For The Oceans bag and wax pads - an ecological substitute for cling film. On site, those willing will also be able to take part in beach volleyball games.
Week under the banner of Run For The Oceans
June 8 is the beginning of the events planned by adidas Runners Warsaw. During the week, under the banner of Run For The Oceans, numerous events will take place in the Warsaw base, including Zero Waste Workshop with Katarzyna Wągrowska, Plogging or Gardening.
If you want to take part in selected events, just download the Runtastic application and join the adidas Runners Warsaw group. Inin the "upcoming events" tab, you can sign up for the main event and check and join the next ones on an ongoing basis. We encourage you to support the action throughout the week in any location by running and scoring miles in the Run For The Oceans Challenge.
Each piece of the adidas X Parley collection is made of plastic waste collected from remote beaches and coastal settlements. At least 75% of the products in the adidas x Parley training collection are made of upcycled plastic. The adidas brand supports Parley Ocean School, which conducts educational campaigns on the threat of plastic in the oceans and inspires people to work for clean waters.
