I am allergic. Since my baby, nasal discharge has been dripping down my throat, making me cough. Usually the discharge is clear and mucilaginous, but recently I have been coughing up thick yellow mucus. It has been going on for over a week. What to do?

The flow of secretions down the back of the throat is a common symptom of allergy sufferers. The appearance of a thick yellow discharge may indicate a bacterial infection and in this situation it is necessary to see an ENT specialist as soon as possible.
