I have been wearing glasses for several years because I have astigmatism. At the beginning, it was not a problem for me. I could function with or without glasses. I went to appointments. Exactly a year ago, I changed my glasses again and then I got -1.0 for one eye and -1.25 for the other. About 2 months ago I noticed that my vision was getting worse and I don't care whether I wear glasses or not. I went to the ophthalmologist and the doctor informed me that my defect has worsened and I currently have -2.0 and -2.5. I was very worried because of this, because my eyesight has not deteriorated so far in such a fast time. Therefore, I have a question: what could be the reasons for this and when could I possibly start thinking about laser vision correction and is it possible at all?

It is difficult to determine the cause of myopia growing on the basis of your e-mail. One of the conditions for laser correction is that the defect - at least for a year - should be stable. Determining the cause of worsening myopia in an adult requires more detailed ophthalmological examinations.
