We noticed that the right eye of our 3-month-old son is a bit smaller than the left one. Sometimes my eyelid seems a little swollen and when she goes to sleep sometimes my eyes don't close at the same time. The left one, the bigger one, stays a bit open, when you fall asleep or pet it, it's closed. The doctor taking care of my son stated that the eyes are he althy and people tend to be asymmetrical. Are these types of asymmetries permanent, or is there a chance that they will disappear with age?

During the first few months of a child's life, muscle tension develops - perhaps a 3-month-old toddler has not yet developed symmetrical tension in the muscles supporting his eyelids. You have to watch, but if your doctor calms down - it's probably a matter of time and everything will stabilize.
