In summer, the baby needs to be bathed every day. Dirt and dust easily adhere to the child's sweaty skin. At home, you probably wouldn't have a problem with that. However, it is difficult to take a bulky, large baby bathtub with you on vacation. So how to efficiently deal with a baby's bath in "field" conditions?
There are still bathrooms in the corridors in many guesthouses and private accommodation - thanks to this, accommodation is cheaper. If you don't know in advance where you want to go, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. This solution has its drawbacks - before eachbaby bathyou will have to thoroughly disinfectbathtub(it is not known who used it before), and bathedbabycarry you through the corridor. Therefore, when booking a room, it is worth mentioning that you are requesting a room with a bathroom. Also make sure how the bathroom is equipped - whether it has a bathtub or a shower cabin. The bathtub is more comfortable, it is difficult for a child to bathe in the cabin because there is little space in it.
Accessories needed for a baby's bath
If you have a room with a bathroom with a bathtub, you can consider yourself lucky, because most holiday bathrooms have cabins. When it comes to bathing accessories, you will surely need a deckchair on which you can lay your child. In stores, you can choose between fabric (stretched on a metal frame) or plastic deckchairs. Those made of fabric are more practical, because they collapse slightly under the weight of the baby, and the fabric can wash the baby's backs. In plastic, the child lies limp and often slides off of them. If you do not like the deckchair, you can cover the bottom of the bathtub with an anti-slip mat with suction cups - the baby's feet will rest on such a mat. You will also need a thermometer, thanks to which you can easily determine the water temperature. What else is worth knowing? Before you pour water into the bathtub for the first time, scrub it thoroughly and rinse thoroughly. If you have been bathing your baby in a small bath so far, do not pour too much water - a safe amount is not more than 10 cm (if the baby slips out of your hands, he will not choke on it).

ImportantWashing the head
If there is no place in the bathroom to do it earlier (and usually there is no, because bathrooms in guesthouses orthe holiday homes are not very spacious), this must be done while bathing. In such a situation, bathing brims come in handy - covers that are put on the toddler's head so that water does not drip into his eyes. They resemble a defective hat because they do not have a part that covers the top of the head. The best way is to lay your baby on a bouncer, put a brim on him and wash his hair quickly.
Bath buckets and bathing chairs
Takes up less space than a traditional baby bathtub, but it facilitates bathing in a large bathtub for parents who are not experienced in it or are afraid of bathing their baby in it. There are two types of such equipment. The first - buckets for toddlers who are not sitting yet. They are then bathed in the embryonic position, shoulder-length immersed in water (so that the child does not get cold as when bathing in a traditional bathtub in which there is little water). This method of bathing may not be very convenient for parents at first, because it is difficult, for example, to soap a child's legs. For slightly older toddlers - those who are already sitting alone (i.e. from about 6 months of age) - there are bath chairs, sometimes referred to as bath seats. They are deceptively similar to a carousel seat - they have holes for legs and a rail that prevents the child from sliding out of the chair. They are made of plastic and are intended for bathing in a large bathtub. The chair is attached to it with the help of rubber suction cups and then poured into the bathtub with water. If you are considering buying such a seat, look for a model that has a factory-installed thermometer and an indicator of water filling the bathtub to a level that is safe for the child.
It is worth buying a travel bathtub for bathing a baby
There are two types of such tubs - foldable and inflatable. The latter are lighter and take up less space in your luggage. Some bathtubs of this type have an additional built-in (also inflatable) pad that replaces the deckchair. It is a convenient solution for parents who have a shower cubicle in the bathroom, but prefer to bathe their child in a bathtub. You can also swim your little one in an inflatable children's pool. It is as practical as an inflatable bathtub, and much cheaper - even in expensive seaside resorts, such a pool can be bought for less than PLN 10. The baby is bathed in it just like in an ordinary bathtub. The downside is that the pools have a very thin floor and it can be uncomfortable for a child lying directly on top of it, so it is always better to put a deckchair in it.
You must do itThis will come in handy
Remember to take with you, in addition to washing and caring for your baby after bathing: - a large onea bath towel, preferably with a sewn-on hood, which dries the head; a new one should be washed before the first use, because it does not absorb water straight from the store - accessories to be put in the bathtub: a bouncer, towel, mat or diaper made of tetras - swabs to wash the mouth and ears - gauze or cotton washcloth for children - a soft brush for hair.
Baby bath in the shower cabin
This task is so much more difficult that only one person will have to bathe the toddler. If the baby is not sitting alone yet, it will be most convenient to place him on a bathing lounger. As in the case of a bathtub, thoroughly scrub the cabin before bathing. Then close the drain with a plug and fill it with water. Place the baby in the recliner so that he is sideways to you. This position of the baby will be more comfortable for you than if the baby was lying in front of you, because you won't have to bend over to wash him.
