I'm in the 40th week of pregnancy - actually, I have a due date for tomorrow. A few days ago I had a terrible cold - I have sinusitis. The doctor and prescribed me the antibiotic Ospamox 1000 mg 2 times a day, i.e. every 12 hours. Is it safe for my unborn baby? What about getting it into the food?
First of all: what kind of doctor prescribed your antibiotic: internist or your gynecologist? If you are an internist, first of all you should consult your gynecologist. Secondly, you are 40 weeks pregnant and the use of beta-lactam antibiotics is safe during pregnancy.
