The 8-hour diet is a weight loss program, thanks to which you will get rid of excess weight without culinary sacrifices. As the authors of the diet argue - you can lose kilograms without paying attention to what you eat. The key to a shapely figure is the time we give the body to digest food. What is the 8-hour diet? Is the 8-hour diet effective?
8-hour diet , otherwiseeight-hour diet , is not another restrictive weight loss program. As the creators of the diet, David Zinczenko and Peter Moore, argue, you can lose kilograms without paying much attention to what you eat.
8-hour diet - what is it? Rules for the eight-hour diet
The authors of the eight-hour diet argue that you can lose weight by eating whatever you want at the moment. The only condition for a successful diet is adherence to meal times, and these may only be eaten during the selected eight hours. The remaining 16 are intended for the regeneration of the body - during this time it should burn the calories provided for the last 8 hours.
Zinczenko and Moore argue that the cause of overweight and obesity is not the habit of eating at any time, especially late in the evening. According to them, by eating all day, from early morning to late evening, we do not give the body time to properly digest the food and get rid of toxins from the body. The human stomach is not able to digest after certain hours. As a consequence, the surplus of calories that we provide after the permitted hours is stored in the form of adipose tissue.
To prove the theory of Zinchenko and Moore, an experiment was carried out on mice. The rodents were divided into two groups and both were fed a high-fat diet. The only difference was that only the first half of the mice could eat at any time of the day. The rest were forced to eat eight hours. The study lasted one hundred days and during this time only the mice that had eaten food 24 hours a day gained weight.
8-hour diet and "delayed" breakfasts
Zinczenko and Moore convince people to eat "delayed breakfasts". When you get out of bed, it is better to drink coffee or tea and eat breakfast a few hours later. In this way, you can extend the 8-hour eating period. Butas is well known, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which should provide 40% of the daily energy requirement. It is especially important in the autumn and winter period, when the incidence of infectious diseases increases. Postponing breakfast, we eat more, and the body has less time to burn the calories provided, which carries a risk of fat gain. For this reason, a rich breakfast is best eaten within the first hour after waking up.
8-hour diet and 8-minute workout
According to the authors of the 8-hour diet, min. An 8-minute workout will help in the process of fat burning. However, a few minutes of exercise a day is not enough to get rid of unnecessary kilograms and support the efficiency of the entire body.
8-minute diet - is it effective?
Zinczenko and Moore conclude that since a slimming person has only 8 hours a day to eat meals, he will limit their intake and thus reduce the amount of calories consumed. Nothing could be more wrong. The authors of the 8-hour diet do not provide the maximum daily energy value of food, what's more, they do not forbid choosing high-calorie products. Therefore, even during the selected 8 hours, you can provide the body with an excessive amount of calories. And because the 8-hour diet is a kind of intermittent fasting, there is a risk that the 16-hour fast may result in ravenous appetite and excessive food intake. So it is better to follow a he althy, balanced diet based on the food pyramid, and eat the last meal before 6 pm - 7 pm.
