I am short-sighted, I also have astigmatism - my eyesight defect is -11. I am very irritated by the fact that through these thick glasses it seems that my eyes and head are much smaller … Could anything be done about it? Are lenses better, and if so, what are they? How about an operation?
-11 diopters are very short-sighted. When considering correction methods, it is necessary to take into account whether this defect is stable (whether it has not changed over the past year) and the patient's age. You can think about laser correction only around the 20th birthday - and assuming that the defect is stable. Glasses can be replaced with catlike lenses: soft or hard (the latter are selected by a few ophthalmologists). There are also other methods of surgical correction (replacement of natural lenses with artificial ones, implantation of phakic lenses), but their use can be decided after thorough research.
