Holidays are getting closer, meanwhile the borders are still closed. Does the epidemic situation and restrictions in other countries make us forget about vacation at warm seas? When will Poles be able to go on holiday abroad?
The ruthless arithmetic and COVID statistics show that our travels around the world must, for the time being, be limited to tracing the map with our finger. The government has announced that the borders will be closed at least until May 13, 2022, but it is known that these dates may change. Airports are still closed and international connections are canceled.
When will Europe open its borders?
Leaving the country is not the only problem at the moment, even if we find a means of transport. Other countries are still closed, including those that live off tourism.
You cannot enter Italy for many weeks, and you cannot travel between regions inside Italy, althoughhotel and guesthouse owners are getting ready for the seasonand are supposedly standing "in starting blocks ".
The freezing of the global economy heralds a huge crisis, so it's no wonder that you hear more and more about plans to open borders and the fact that some popular destinations in Poland will soon be available to travelers.
Greece is waiting for tourists
The governments of Greece and Cyprus announced that they plan to gradually relax bans related to the coronavirus pandemic from May 4. Both countries would like to welcome the first tourists in July, the PAP agency reported.
- This summer will be completely different than usual. There is no doubt about it. Nevertheless, we can still do a lot to tryto save the Greek tourism industry- said Harry Theochari, Greek tourism minister, quoted by PAP.
In 2022, 34 million tourists visited Greece. Theochari believes that if 1/3 comes this year, it will be "very lucky".
Spain is also preparing for such changes, as it has closed its borders until May 10. Aena - the manager of many airports in this country, wants the first planes to take off in May - we read on the Flyfree.pl website.

Tourists? Yes, but on othersrules
Many countries have different ideas for introducing safety rules to prevent a second wave of disease caused by the influx of tourists from other countries. Italy plans to divide beaches into sectors and book them to ensure distance between sunbathers.
Turkey is going to admit only those tourists who will be able to present the so-called "He alth certificate", while Spanish hoteliers' organizations proposed to the government thattourists should wear colorful bracelets on their hands to indicate their state of he alth(cured, he althy, at risk).
It was not stated, however, whether the latter group would face any restrictions, e.g. a ban on access to the beach or swimming pool.
