The longevity of Okinawan people is not only about diet. There are golden rules:

Okinawa - rule1 - stay active

The inhabitants of Okinawa, a small island in the Sea of Japan, reach the age of 100, but this is not surprising - seniors live there actively, are physically and intellectually fit. The end of their professional life does not prevent them from engaging in many other activities. They learn new things, expand their competences, practice, and perform plays. Everyone has a rhythm there, but remains active and independent.

Okinawa - rule2 - deepen your relationships with others

It's scientifically proven that people who have stable and solid social relationships live longer than others. Indeed, in Okinawa, social ties are cordial and people see each other frequently. Neighbor meetings are here onagenda. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to transfer these customs from a tiny island to the west, especially to large cities. But you can always smile at your neighbors, ask for small favors and offer them yourself in return. It will be something! It is worth taking care of your current relationships, calling friends from time to time, it certainly won't hurt.

Okinawa - rule3 - learn to meditate and relax

Meditation is an integral part of people's lives in Okinawa. Meditation, even though our society does not have this tradition, is worth transferring to European soil, as it has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and increase concentration. It's worth finding a few minutes during the day to calm down and relax.

Okinawa - rule4 - enjoy your life!

To enjoy the present moment is to look to the future with greater optimism. Every bite of tasty food, every smile from an unknown person, every beautiful sight can bring us happiness. Okinawans enjoy simple things and stay cheerful until the end of a long life.
