What do specialists think about new fashionable methods of prolonging youth? We discuss trends in aesthetic medicine with Dr. Joanna Kuschill-Dziurda from the Medestetis Institute of Aesthetic Medicine.
The development of aesthetic medicine goes in several directions - says Dr. Joanna Kuschill-Dziurda. - A holistic approach to the patient gains importance. After all, it is not just about offering him a series of certain treatments. When a person comes to the office with a sallow complexion, overweight and shineless hair, they need to be persuaded to change their lifestyle.
A more rational diet, motivation to physical activity, and appropriately selected treatments - only such a comprehensive action will give the expected effect, i.e. improvement in appearance, he alth and well-being.
Trends in aesthetic medicine - treatments using own tissues
A strong trend is to achieve the effect of rejuvenating the appearance not by invasive treatments, but by stimulating regenerative processes with the use of the patient's own tissues.
This is what you can do with, for example, treatments with platelet-rich plasma, obtained from blood taken from the patient and then administered in selected parts of the body - the growth factors contained in the plasma stimulate cells to regenerate.
The transplantation of own adipose tissue works in a similar way. In this way, you can, for example, enlarge the breasts or model the face. In addition, adipose tissue contains stem cells which, when injected into the skin, improve its structure.
Trends in aesthetic medicine - equipment and technique
Devices for improving the appearance of the skin and body are becoming more and more perfect and safer. Today we have at our disposal, among others lasers, devices using low temperature, ultrasounds or radio waves.
The last hit is plasma - it evaporates tissues in a fraction of a second, and in addition almost painlessly. Today we use plasma mainly to correct drooping eyelids.
Techniques for administering substances to the skin to restore its youthful appearance have also developed significantly. Instead of needles, doctors today can use microcannulas. This means that instead of the unpleasant multiple punctures, you can get the same thing by inserting the microcannula only once - no pain, no risk of hematomas or vascular damage.
