A year ago I was diagnosed with an elevated prolactin hormone. When I went to the doctor, we did a series of tests and it turned out that there was a microadenoma located on the pituitary gland behind it. For over a year I take Cabergoline half a tablet a week, I did another blood test and the prolactin came out 1152 mu / L, and the adult woman's interval is 102-496 mU / L. I am very worried about it. I don't know what to do, even though I take medications, my prolactin doesn't drop. What am I supposed to do next? Where did it come from in my body at all?

The most common pituitary adenoma is a prolactin-producing adenoma. Its concentration in the blood is proportional to the size of the lesion. Treatment is based on the administration of drugs as you are taking, and should be monitored by measuring prolactin levels. If treatment is effective, prolactin levels should decline. It is also advisable to perform a control pituitary MRI. If the prolactin level remains the same high, then either the adenoma is resistant to treatment (resonance does not change the size) or the lesion in the pituitary gland does not secrete the hormone and the source of the excess prolactin production is different.
