My son is 12 years old and 142 cm tall. We go to consultations privately. During yesterday's visit, I learned that my son is not growing because he has a maturation disorder. The doctor said the name of the disease in English very indistinctly. I asked him three times, but each time the answer was the same. I realized that the abbreviation for this condition is CDGP. I found information that it may be related to leptin, but I can't put it together. What's wrong with my baby and how can I help him? He is liked in the classroom. Children do not pay attention to his height and childish appearance. He himself says that he does not mind, but I can see that he is closing in on himself. He prefers to make friends over the internet. He is very polite and calm, but he can be tearful.
It is probably the "Constitutional delay of growth and puberty (CDGP)" it is a constitutional delay of growth and maturation. Most often it is associated with genetic factors (inheritance from parents). I do not know what diagnostic tests your son has had and whether other causes of the disorders have been ruled out. My advice would be to get a referral to an endocrinologist from a pediatrician and go to an endocrinology clinic in a hospital with an endocrinology department. In such departments it is possible to carry out a full diagnosis of hormonal disorders (such possibilities are not available outside the hospital). You will then find out how the whole process of maturation in your son can take place, whether you can wait, or whether there are indications for treatment.
