My husband has premature ejaculation. We have never had normal sex yet, because when it comes to sexual intercourse it is the end … And it has been like this for 4 years. Are there any over-the-counter pills because the husband is embarrassed to see the doctor?

Unfortunately, there are no pills for this and this ailment is usually treated with psychotherapy. The problem of premature ejaculation is in the psyche. A man with this problem is unable to sense the moment when it is about to ejaculate and then stop the stimulation. This is because there is a sudden, very strong, uncontrolled increase in sexual arousal. Usually the cause of this problem is anxiety, tension, various fears (e.g. fear of pregnancy, intermittent intercourse, fear that someone might spy on him, fear that he will not satisfy his partner). In addition, if the problem repeats itself, an additional fear in a man before the next intercourse grows that he will fail again, that he is a bad lover, that he will not satisfy his partner, etc. This greatly reduces the self-esteem in a man. This creates a so-called vicious circle that is difficult to break. Therefore, the most effective method is psychotherapy, during which you need to focus on the causes of the problem and possibly tell you what techniques you can use at home to improve your sex life. The only drug that is used in men with this problem is an antidepressant drug, the side effect of which is orgasmic disturbances, manifested in men, among other things, with difficulty in achieving ejaculation and thus prolonging intercourse. This problem very often affects young men, often those who are just starting sexual intercourse and the prognosis for recovery is very high. So I recommend visiting a sexologist.
