I recently had a gastroscopy. Result: stomach - mucosa strongly hyperemic and fluffed with blurred vascular pattern. The esophagus and the keyway area normal. Pylorus - open, shapely. My doctor after reading said that it is a strong inflammation of the stomach. What is this disease? Is it something dangerous? Could there be any serious complications? How to treat it and can it be cured at home?

Gastritis is a reaction of the mucosa to harmful factors. The condition is widespread around the world and is one of the most common reasons why patients visit their doctor's office. The disease is diagnosed on the basis of endoscopic examination and examination of the collected mucosa under a microscope (i.e. histopathological examination). The trauma test is also helpful in the diagnosis. Symptoms of gastritis include a feeling of sucking or pain in the upper abdomen, a feeling of fullness, and sometimes there may be a bad breath. The cause of inflammation is infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori - as a result of which there are changes in the structure of the gastric mucosa and disorders in the production of mucus. The severity of the lesions and their location depend on the individual gastric response to Helicobacter pylori infection. Stress and a diet containing spicy spices as well as sour-flavored foods are of some importance in the development or worsening of inflammation. Treatment of inflammation requires constant and regular contact with a doctor because it is necessary to take two medications - an antibiotic and the so-called proton pump blocker - which are available only by prescription, so it is not possible to cure the so-called home methods. You should carefully follow the instructions of the attending physician.
