For 5 years I have had a feeling of cramp, burning, pressure, "anesthesia" on my tongue. The pain is constant and quite severe - in the right side or in the center of the tongue. Sometimes it also "tightens" my jaws, it stings in my ear, but it passes, only the tongue is constantly. I was "treated" gastrologically, laryngologically, endocrinologically (tetany - tetany test turned out to be positive for me, but the treatment did not help), neurologically (2 days in the hospital at Szaserów St. in Warsaw for tests - MRI, tomography, examinations for SR, ect. - nothing showed). The final diagnosis was anxiety neurosis, but medication treatment didn't help. Recently, at the urging of my dentist, I went to the clinic of pain treatment, dentistry and prosthetics, to fame in this field, to prof. Baron. The professor diagnosed me with bruxism, which may also cause such symptoms. I was given a relaxation splint and I hope that maybe this diagnosis will be correct. I am asking for your opinion.
Indeed - since there is nothing in MR - it is difficult for me to somehow express my opinion on it. I do believe in symptoms, of course, but somehow it doesn't fit in very well. I would rather look for causes in atypical n. IX neuralgia, but the symptoms are customarily different. Naturally - why not try amitriptyline overnight with 10 mg for a start? Have you used e.g. Tegretol?
