Hello. My daughter is 8 years old and has been diagnosed with epilepsy because she had 4 attacks and the eeg showed an outbreak in the back of her head. Doctors say it is a postpartum complication as she was born with asphyxia and had a cardiac arrest for 5 minutes. I accidentally found a bioenergotherapist who said it was nervous. After his session, she stopped holding her breath during sleep (it lasted 7 seconds) and started to seem to externalize her nerves, because she has weak convulsions when falling asleep and then she sleeps peacefully, she has stopped dark circles under her eyes and is more lively, her appetite has returned. I wonder who to believe and how to direct further treatment, I take into account her stress, because she is after family history and she is tearful. Another MRI awaits her and eeg. I mention that he has been taking Trileptal since August 2007 and since then there has been no visible attack.

I'm a doctor. My answer is yes - I have nothing against bioenergotherapy because it often helps. However, in NO CASE SHOULD YOU STOP YOUR MEDICINES! If epilepsy is diagnosed, it is, unless the abovementioned "bioenergotherapist" is a specialist in pediatric neurology.
