Incelis a term coined by … a woman who is also queer (that is, representing the LGBT community). Her name is Alana, she comes from Canada and coined this term in 1993.

Incel is an abbreviation for involuntary celibate, meaning "celibate involuntarily".Alana wanted to use this term to describe people who have problems with establishing relationships, primarily sexual.

She has even established an online community for people with little experience in this matter. With time, it turned out that there are more men in it than women. Alana disengaged from this community, and gentlemen who proclaim that women are inferior to men, ironically, got their subculture named after one of them.

Who is incel?

Incel is usually a man aged 22-35 who is either a virgin, or hasn't had sex in the last two years, or has simply had a poor and unsuccessful relationship with women.

Incele would like to interact with representatives of the opposite sex, and failure to do so makes them angry. Only women.

Female representatives are guilty of their (in the opinion of themselves) a regrettable situation. On the one hand, they claim that women "are made only for sex and childbearing", on the other hand, they believe that this is what gives them full power over men.

Because even an unattractive woman will find her amateur, and it is much more difficult for an unattractive man to find a partner. Especially that women pay attention, still according to inceli, only to the appearance and we alth of a man's wallet.

Are incele dangerous to society?

Reading about young men claiming to hate women, one might assume that they are simply unhappy boys who lack self-confidence and instead of working on themselves, accuse others of their own carefully created misfortune .

One of the inceli is Joey, 23, an unemployed and no longer learning American. The man agreed to star in a short HBO film devoted to incels.As he admits, sometimes for 2 days he can stay on the computer, talking to his friends on the Internet and smoking all the time.

He claims that he feels more "real" in front of the screen than when he goes outside. Only then does he think he is playing a game.

Four of Joey's friends from the incel chat have committed suicide. When one of them announces that he wants to take his own life, nobody stops him, he hears voices of appreciation.

When asked if the incels are dangerous to society, Joey replies:

- I don't think incele are aggressive. They are actually very weak. Insulting women on the internet is not the same as ISIS, for example. They do more "masculine" things.

However, although most incels kill "only" with words, these more "masculine" activities also happen to them. The incels got high in 2014, when 22-year-old Elliot Rodger murdered 6 people in Isla Vista and then committed suicide.

First, he stabbed his two roommates, then made a short video explaining why he wanted to commit a massacre. The motive for his crime was hatred of women and the fact that it was because of them that he was still a virgin at the age of 22.

Rodger also posted a 141-page manifesto against sex drive. He sent it to his therapist and father who notified the police. Rodger later went to the female dormitory to kill the students, but failed to get there. So he started killing people who had the misfortune to walk by him. Victims ranged from 19 to 22 years old.

The first mass murder motivated by hatred of women was committed before the inceli era by Canadian Marc Lépine in 1989. He broke into a polytechnic building (because, in his opinion, women should not go to this type of university) in Montreal, split men and women into two groups, and began killing women. 24 students and 4 men died. The perpetrator claimed that he was "fighting feminism this way", which is guilty of his ruined life.

However, after the Rodger massacre, there were 5 more mass murders (4 in the USA and 1 in Canada), the perpetrators of which considered themselves inceli.

Stacy, Chad and the femoids

Incele even created their own philosophy to explain their failures in male-female relationships. As mentioned, it is primarily women who are to blame, but also society as a whole. Representatives of the female sex are "femonoids" for inceli - not humans, but a subspecies of a human that should becontrolled. "If women have the right to choose and do not choose us, they must be deprived of this right," they say.

Among the claims of incela about women there are, among others such:

  • "femonoid is pure evil";
  • "femonoid rejects a man because he is a virgin";
  • "femonoids are serial killers who kill thousands of unborn babies";
  • "femonoids say they care about incels but don't want to give them sex";
  • "femonoid is a sperm bag";
  • "if you don't want ugly men to rape women, stop refusing them sex";
  • "you cannot rape your wife";
  • "legal rape would be the best punishment for women for premarital sex";
  • "I saw a woman cry today and I almost couldn't help laughing"1 .

In turn, a journalist of the portal Villainesse, whose aim is to "support young women", spent one evening at the inceli forum. Among other things, she read that:

  • "by the age of 25, women had hundreds of f… s in them, most of them do not remember, so when you put it on your face, hit her to make her remember you;
  • women's rights are … o2 .

Incele has a lot of forums, especially on 4chan and, until recently, on reddit - the latter, despite being famous for its openness to different views, eventually blocked inceli's hateful posts.

In 2022, a "support group" of over 40,000 people was closed. Today, there is a 120,000-strong anti-target group IncelTears featuring screenshots of their most misogynistic, violent-inducing posts.

"The Inceli revolution has just begun! We'll defeat all the Chads and all the Staceys of the world!" - shouted another incel-killer in his messages in social media - 25-year-old Alek Minassian from Toronto.

Chadis, according to a peculiar inceli philosophy, the alpha male, who plays for the football team in high school, looks great - he has a well-groomed, muscular body, and women are crazy about him. He can sleep with as many of them as he likes.

Stacyis an alpha female. A popular, beautiful girl, choosing men like in ulęgałkach. She has sexy, long blonde hair, has sex with Chad, never works, leads a luxurious life, wears designer clothes. Men get an erection at the mere sight of it.

Beckyis the second type of woman distinguished by inceli. She is a male-hating feminist who is supported online by her girlfriends with the same views. According to incela, her appearance is 6/10, she is more of a typenerds. She likes to be the dominant person in a relationship and dye her hair gray, green, blue.

Besides, there are also " normies ", meaning normals - they look average, they are moderately intelligent, they have some sex life, but not particularly fascinating. They blend in with society, they don't stand out.

Incele refer to normals (and other types of people distinguished by them) simultaneously with hatred ("normals should not be allowed to breathe clean air"), mockery, but also with a bit of jealousy. On the one hand, they would like to be able to fit into the norm, but on the other hand, they consider their views to be better than those of most people.

To the rescue incelom

Most incels in "real" and not "virtual" mostly harm themselves. He accuses the world of focusing on women, and in fact he subordinates his whole life to them, or rather the lack of them.

Women alone try to help them. There is even a special Date An Incel website where they can arrange dates with incels, there are also support groups for inceli run by psychotherapists.

Incel is an unattractive man, primarily in his own opinion. Not only is he convinced of his own ugliness, but he also claims that women are not interested in his intellect, which he values ​​himself. So there is no point in trying to make any contact with girls, it's better to hate them.

Psychologists do not deny that incele is facing a big problem, but to solve it, you have to be willing to do it. Psychology professor Dale Hartley advises incelom to start working on themselves in the first place: stop focusing on their own misery, abandon the forums for inceli and consider what kind of relationship with a woman they would expect3 . In addition to the sexual aspect - what qualities are they looking for in a woman, with whom they could get along. And they developed a plan to get to know, even without a dating context initially, such a person.

To remember that they themselves can be half of a successful relationship or even a meeting. However, convincing Inelia to take such actions is not the easiest task.
