Accompanying COVID-19 pneumonia is a reason to seek professional help as soon as possible. But how do you recognize it yourself? A simple poem that should be said in one breath will help. And if you fail, see your doctor as soon as possible.
This poem was posted on his Facebook profile by Maciej Jęrzejko, MD, PhD, a well-known Silesian obstetrician-gynecologist. The doctor himself fell ill with COVID-19 himself and, from the perspective of his own knowledge and experience, advises how to treat this disease at home and when it is necessary to call a doctor.
In one of the next posts, the specialist wrote: "Don't count on a miracle. Prepare yourself. You will most likely get sick with Covid - so just prepare."
He also included a list of products that should be kept at home in case of infection - mainly equipment for monitoring vital signs, including a non-contact thermometer, a pressure measuring device, finger pulse oximeter and a pneumatic nebulizer.
The list also includes food products that can help the body during the disease and medications recommended for this disease. The expert also emphasizes to observe the body and react immediately to deteriorating he alth. As he writes:
"Remember the diagnostic rhyme: I want to live in a free country, where every word is free, where the president knows what he is saying, while the competition is he althy. If you can't say it in one breath, you may have pneumonia! Call the doctor! immediately. And it's not a joke. "
The doctor emphasizes that around 6-8 days of infection there may be a sudden deterioration of well-being - fever may return and shortness of breath may appear. In such a situation, the patient must be immediately auscultated by the doctor, as this may be the beginning of a cytokine storm that is life-threatening.
