My four-year-old son started to lose his left eye. the ophthalmologist said it was a hidden strabismus and recommended glasses -1.0. On the other hand, I read on the Internet that if the muscle in the eye is weakened, the he althy eye should be covered so that the sick eye can start working. Will your son's eyesight deteriorate through these glasses?

Lenses with the sign "-" indicate divergent strabismus. When prescribing such glasses, the doctor should also recommend appropriate exercises (only doing them increases the chances of curing strabismus). When it comes to covering the he althy eye, this form of therapy is used when the squinting eye can see worse. In your son's case, both eyes "see" well, hence the glasses + EXERCISES should help. If not, an operation may be required.
