I have a problem with my driving license. In March 2014, I had a seizure loss of consciousness, the ambulance service took me to the hospital where it was found that I had an epilepsy attack. A similar incident happened 12 years ago, when I had a traffic accident about two weeks earlier. At that time I worked for 12 hours, but then nobody took my driving license. After hospitalization, I received a call to the communications department in May 2014. The clerk informed me that the hospital had sent them my paperwork and they would suspend my driving license until I have been examined by an occupational medicine physician. I was given a deadline for this until July 30, 2015 inclusive. After this date, I will have to take a driving test. In turn, the neurologist says that I can do the tests only after 2 years. One contradicts the other. Can a seizure occur as a result of vehicle exhaust poisoning or fatigue? Supposedly, epilepsy is diagnosed if it occurs within 5 years - I was 12 years old. What are the rules? In my case, the office says something else, and the doctor says something else.

I will not comment on medical topics related to the circumstances of epileptic seizures, seizures, etc.

However, I can say that in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of He alth of 17 July 2014 on medical examinations of persons applying for the authorization to drive vehicles and drivers as part of a medical examination, an authorized physician assesses the he alth of the examined person for the purpose of determining the existence or absence of he alth contraindications for driving vehicles in the field of: 1) eyesight, 2) hearing and balance, 3) motor system, 4) cardiovascular and respiratory systems, 5) nervous system, including epilepsy, 6) kidney function, 7) diabetes, taking into account the results of the blood glucose test, 8) mental state, 9) symptoms indicating alcohol dependence or abuse, 10) symptoms indicating alcohol dependence or abuse, 11) the use of medicinal products that may affect the ability to drive vehicles, 12) other serious he alth disorders that may pose a threat in the situation of a driver with vehicles. When it comes to the nervous system, it includes diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system as well as related neurological disorderswith surgical intervention resulting in damage to any of these systems, depending on the functional effects (disturbances of consciousness, sensory disturbances, motor disorders, disturbances in body posture, disturbances in balance and motor coordination, dysfunction of visual and auditory perception). The risks resulting from the specificity of the disease, the risk of progression of neurological disorders and deterioration of he alth are also taken into account. In the case of neurological diseases, an opinion of a neurologist may be required, in the case of epilepsy, an opinion of a neurologist is necessary.
