My question is about my father's behavior, and more about my concerns about how his disorders will affect the further functioning of my family. Briefly: this is a 62-year-old man who from the beginning of his marriage used violence against his mother, used various fanciful forms of punishment against his brother (especially), e.g. biting, beating with a belt, it is characteristic that when he ran amok of beating, he could not stop . Today, as an elderly man, he is in conflict with all his friends, neighbors, he claims to strangle his mother-in-law, constantly argues with his brother, throws him out of the house. He whitens, cheats, plays, tells stories that show him in a better light, has constantly changed workplaces, does not believe in advising him, he knows everything best. In the history of his life, he killed many animals on the assumption that some of their behavior was deliberate (he is convinced that the animals anticipate the consequences of their actions). When he gets angry, furious, reaches for dangerous objects, threatening to kill him, once in such a frenzy he scalded his mother with boiling water, pouring hot water over her, there were many such situations. I am afraid that one day he will hurt himself (serious damage, death) to himself or someone in the household. What to do, how to help him and us, I am asking for advice. Thank you and best regards.

The doctor won't help. The father will not agree to an examination or treatment. There are two ways: to place him in a hospital under a court order, how to do it - ask at the nearest Mental He alth Clinic. Or to file a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office for mental and physical abuse of relatives and animals. No path is easy, it requires courage and determination from the family, but you have to do it in your own defense.
