I have been treating paranoid schizophrenia for 10 years. I have one child, born before the disease. I'd love to have a second one, but I'm taking clozapol. My psychiatrist advises me not to get pregnant. If I got pregnant, would the baby be born sick? What is the relationship between clozapol and pregnancy?
I'm not surprised the doctor advises against pregnancy. It is true that Clozapol has not been proven to interfere with the development of the fetus and the course of pregnancy, but it has also not been proven that it is safe. There is a rule: it is best not to use such drugs during pregnancy. If it comes to an unplanned pregnancy - you need to consult and listen to your doctor, sometimes drugs turn out to be necessary and their withdrawal - dangerous. Regards!
