British Becky David, of Redditch, Worcestershire, developed coughing fits shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic. She attributed this symptom to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The cough began to interfere with her daily activities. As the 36-year-old said, "she did a lot of tests, but all of them tested negative."
She did not expect such a diagnosis
After six months, the doctors diagnosed it - the cough turned out to be a symptom of non-small cell lung cancer with a rearrangement in the ALK gene, i.e. aplastic lymphoma kinase. This cancer occurs in a small population of patients.
