Hello, my 7-month-old son has just been cured of a urinary tract infection. After the antibiotic treatment, he also had an ultrasound of the abdominal cavity, which showed no changes. However, for the last 3 months, my son has not slept at night. After a UTI healed, there is no improvement in sleep. He can wake up even every half hour. Could this be due to uretero-alveolar reflux? Would an ultrasound show anything in reflux or do you need a specialist examination? The child is kicking with its feet, is sleepy during the day and has dark circles under the eyes, but has no fever or vomiting. I am asking for advice.
A child's ailments may be related to bladder emptying disorders. It is best to repeat the urine tests and assess the residual urine in the bladder after passing it. If the test confirms the presence of urine, appropriate drugs, so-called alpha-blockers, can be started. If the delay is not confirmed, contact the pediatrician for help.
