I have been suffering from type I diabetes for 20 years and I have had uncontrolled diabetes for over 5 years (glycosylated hemoglobin is 11.1%). I am careful, I check sugar 6-10 times a day, I do not eat, and yet I have problems all the time. What should I do? Secondly, I am already 30 years old and I would like to finally have a child, what are my chances of getting pregnant? And could I give birth to a he althy baby at all?
With such uncontrolled diabetes, you have no chance of becoming pregnant. In your case, you should visit the regional center for pregnant women with diabetes and, if possible, rent an insulin pump during the planning and entire pregnancy. If the mother's diabetes is balanced, the child has the same chances of developing possible defects as the children of mothers without diabetes.
