I have been going to 1 gynecologist for about 10 years. I am in my second pregnancy. During the first ultrasound examination, the doctor ordered me to pay 50 zlotys for it, as it was only the 6th week of pregnancy. He did not open a pregnancy card and did not refer me to any tests. When I came a month later, I had an ultrasound again - this time for free, he didn't put a pregnancy book on me again, but ordered me to do blood and urine tests at his own expense. Is this a normal thing? Every pregnant woman should have tests for free, right? When should a pregnancy card be inserted? What tests are reimbursed by the National He alth Fund for a pregnant woman?
You should have a pregnancy book on during your first or second visit. The scope of recommended tests to be performed during pregnancy is available on the website of the Ministry of He alth. All referral tests issued by a doctor working in a he alth care unit that has a signed contract with the National He alth Fund are free. They are payable only if the patient is treated or pregnant in a unit that does not have a signed agreement with the National He alth Fund. Free care covers insured persons and Polish citizens. You should clarify the problem with the head of the facility or in the appropriate branch of the National He alth Fund.
