My husband had a laser surgery to break the stone, but the procedure was unsuccessful because his pelvis was damaged and he became infected. Is my husband safe? Doctors don't want to tell me more.
Your husband had endoscopic treatment of urolithiasis, i.e. an entrance to the kidney was made through the skin in the lumbar region to remove the stone. It sometimes happens that when entering the kidney there is a slight damage to the pelvis, which heals without complications with good drainage. If it was a bigger damage, the husband would be operated on during this procedure. The infection is treated with an antibiotic. Your husband has the full right to know what has been done, what further treatment is planned and has the right to access the medical history. If the attending physician does not want to provide information about the he alth condition, there is also the head of the ward that you can turn to.
