I am asking for your opinion on the correct level of TSH in a 4-month-old baby. The result is 7.45 u / iu / ml (lab standard 0.73-8.35). Tests performed due to the protrusion of the uvula - its slight enlargement was found. The neurologist had no objection to the child. The pediatrician described the child as he althy and the sticking out of the tongue "for such a charm". Could you please tell me if TSH should be below the limit in children, as well as in adults? I would like to add that during pregnancy I was taking Euthyrox from the 31st week (for 3 weeks). I had TSH -1.5 and FT4 -10. However, the drug decreased TSH to 0.5, and FT4 increased to only 11. Administration of the drug according to the doctor did not have the desired effect, so there was no need for further treatment - I never had any problems with the thyroid gland, so he decided it was pregnancy. Should this level of TSH in a child be worrying?

TSH in a newborn is several times higher than in an adult, but after the first month it should be within the same range as in an adult. So I advise you to consult a pediatric endocrinologist on this matter.
