My problem and complex is a speech impediment. I was born prematurely. At the age of a few years, I was diagnosed with less delayed speech development, which means that I later learned to speak than my peers, and so I'm catching up. When I was a child, my parents used to see a speech therapist with me. Later it turned out that I had a heart defect, my parents focused on cardiological treatment, giving up speech therapy. Currently, I am a 25-year-old person. Unfortunately, I still have a speech impediment, which has been a source of shame, complexes and sadness since I was a child. As an adult, can I "cure" myself of a speech impediment through therapy? I'm embarrassed. In non-stress, normal situations, my speech is slurred.

Age is no obstacle in getting rid of speech impediments. It is necessary to visit a speech therapist who deals with adults. He will diagnose the defect and conduct therapy. It will certainly take several months, but you will definitely be able to help.
