I'm 19 years old. I have difficulty falling asleep due to various kinds of anxiety. It may seem ridiculous at my age, but it is a fear of some creatures, life-threatening. It's hard for me to close my eyes because my fear is getting worse. It has been bothering me for several years. I don't watch any horror movies and try to limit myself to similar movies. What to do to fall asleep at a relatively early time at least once, not to be afraid and to sleep all night? In addition, I am tired of frequent awakenings (5-6 times in one night).

Whatever fears they are - there is nothing funny about them. I wonder why this has been bothering you for several years? There has to be something there, perhaps an explanation and discussion of the cause would help. That is why it is worth going to a psychologist or psychotherapist. You can also take "shortcuts" by taking anxiolytics or sleeping pills, maybe they have already been used, if so - it shows not very effectively. May only the non-addictive ones, because addiction to one can only exacerbate the problems. And for now, since you can't get rid of these terrible creatures - maybe you will like them. For example, imagine that they are friendly towards you and that they protect you from any danger. Regards!
