My son is 2.5 years old. Pisses very nicely in the potty, but unfortunately never wants to poop. It only takes pampers. When I try to hold on to him and do not diaper him, he may not defecate for up to three days. As a result, his stomach hurts. What should I do?
Hello! Make sure you wear a diaper for now! Sometimes children do. Some quickly understand what to "do" with the poop and not pee, and some vice versa. Don't worry - this could take several months and even days. It happens that one day the child simply "catches up" and from then on it is calm. Sometimes it takes longer and there are "mishaps". Perhaps it is worth considering other ways to encourage your son to defecate outside the diaper. May he suggest sitting on a large toilet (just like mom and dad!) Or putting the potty in a specific place (e.g. in the bathroom)? Anyway, don't make a big deal out of this for now, because the more you pay attention to it, the worse your son will feel. Give him plenty of fruit, contacts, water to drink, and check his bowel movements from time to time. Give him some more slack - he'll learn it eventually anyway - have you ever seen a seven-year-old making in diapers? This is obviously a joke, but the little one still has some time for everything to be normal.
