The box diet won our hearts - this year, according to the estimates of catering companies, it is used by as much as 35 percent. more Poles. But is it really safe to order such meals in hot weather?
The reasons why we are increasingly willing to use box diets are different. Some people prefer to spend their time cooking on other activities, others want to eat he althy, others - lose weight after a period of isolation.
As the demand for these dishes increases, the number of companies that offer them is also growing - according to the estimates of the catering company Pomelo, there are almost 500 companies offering box diets in Poland, of which almost 300 is located in Warsaw and the surrounding area.
When planning to order such a diet in the summer, it is worth checking not only its price, composition or calorific value of the dishes, but also think about whether it will be safe .
What's going on? Logistics requires that the sets of meals are prepared the day before - after they are prepared, they are hermetically packed and sent to the cold store, and at night they are delivered to customers straight to the door, where they await collection. Suppliers bring them at specific time intervals - e.g. from 1 am to 6 am.
And here is the problem: while the transport itself is safe (because the meal sets are delivered using specialized refrigerated vehicles),food that hangs on the fence or the door handle for several hot, night hours hours, it can simply break.
To reduce the risk of poisoning, it is worth checkingbefore ordering a diet if there is a possibility of delivery in a shorter period than the standard time(e.g. between 5 and 7 am). Some caterers also offerthermal packagingthat keeps food cool for a while and protects it from sunlight, preventing spoilage and extending shelf life.
