On Saturday, November 18, at 7.00 a.m., the fourth, morning Run for the Heart in the Planty Park, which was part of the 2022 Preventive Cardiology Congress, took place.

The Run for the Heart is a run for both cardiac patients, but also for all people who want to take care of their heart even on cold autumn days.

This year, not only guests from abroad, speakers and participants of the Congress of Preventive Cardiology, but also residents of Krakow and respectable seniors took part in the run. Among the runners was Mr. Jan Stachow, 88 years old, a former commando - the oldest marathon runner in Poland, who from the hands of professor Piotr Jankowski received the cup for the oldest participant of the 4th Run for the Heart.

- We were consulted by people who like an active lifestyle and take care of their he alth. We were not afraid of the early hours and unfavorable weather. I emphasize that regularity is important in physical activity. If someone has not run yet, he could come and walk with us this distance or ride it on a bike because every form of physical activity is even beneficial for our heart and the whole body- said Prof. Piotr Jankowski, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Congress of Preventive Cardiology 2022.

Morning Run through the Planty Krakowskie is the best practical confirmation of doctors' recommendations regarding the beneficial effects of physical activity on heart he alth - regardless of the season. For the fourth time the participants competed with the distance of four kilometers, starting the competition at the gates of the Old Town at ul. Sienna.
