At the end of December, I detected a growth on my right testicle. I went to the doctor who did the ultrasound and ordered the tests. HCG-5 and AFP-1.6 came out, he said to "remove and clean." Can't HCG be so big because I do sports for 4 hours a day? I also had high iron levels recently, couldn't it build up in the tissue?
Marker levels are not always elevated in testicular tumors - it depends on the histopathological type of the tumor. The most important factors in the decision to remove the testicle are the medical examination and the ultrasound image. The need for adjuvant chemotherapy can be decided only after a histopathological examination of the removed testicle, determination of the level of markers after the procedure, evaluation of retroperitoneal lymph nodes in imaging tests - preferably computed tomography. Collecting all these results allows us to determine the severity of the disease and only on this basis can we talk about qualifications for further treatment.
