Hello. Doctor, is it possible to circumcise a boy for hygienic reasons immediately after birth? At what age can it be done safely so that the baby does not suffer? Thank you. Halina

Circumcision in infancy is performed e.g. for religious reasons. Whether or not a child will be circumcised is mainly up to the parents. In some countries, a significant proportion of boys are subjected to this fugitive, regardless of religious considerations. I propose to refer to the pediatric surgeon in order to precisely define the conditions of the procedure. Currently, such procedures require anesthesia.
