Good morning. I am 16 years old, this year I am finishing high school. Ever since I started junior high school, I started having a pronunciation problem. I speak fast, slurred and often have to repeat what I said because I cannot be understood. I feel terrible discomfort when I say something, I just feel terribly weird and start shutting down because I can't express myself. It's strange that it didn't start until junior high; in elementary school, I took part in fast reading competitions and performed in a theater group. What happened to me? Is there anything you can do about it? I am very ashamed of that.

It is possible that the changes in her pace of speech and her nervousness have occurred as a result of changes in school, surroundings and the challenges you face. Since you didn't have such problems before, I would suggest consulting a psychologist first. He or she should determine the cause and determine if there is any stress behind it. If that excludes that, then you can only start with the diction exercises. However, I believe that the basis should be a psychological diagnosis.
