How to deal with it? Where and to whom to turn for help? The problem concerns a person close to me, whom I would love to help.

Unfortunately, I cannot fulfill this task. I would have to write a book here, and I wouldn't have written anyway, because I'm not that knowledgeable about it. There are various good guides on eating disorders available in bookstores, so check out there. You don't hear about bulimia in your town, because nobody boasts about it either. Even the closest ones do not know it for a long time. The fear of becoming a happy fat man is a misconception - eating disorders are related to this type of anxiety. Whom to contact? Initially, to someone on hand, a psychologist or a psychiatrist, and look for further leads if that was not enough. If there are difficulties with treatment on the spot, you can apply for a referral to one of the neurosis treatment clinics in Krakow, Katowice, Warsaw, Lublin. But it is best to heal on the spot. All in all, it is not you who need such detailed information, but the person who wants to be treated. Your role can only be to show understanding, motivate and support. Regards!
