I've been infected with HPV for about a year. I smear my penis with Aldara cream. I also tried Codeline. The virus goes away and comes back after a while. I just started a relationship with my partner about a year ago and I infected her with HPV. Does anything change when I have sex without a condom, or when I have oral sex with my partner who is infected? Does it work in such a way that if I lubricate with a cream, for example Aldara, and the condylomas disappear, then by oral intercourse I contribute to the fact that they reappear? Or maybe it works in such a way that if I have already contracted HPV 16 virus once, then having intercourse with a person also infected with HPV 16 virus does not change anything, because I was already infected? In other words, is it pointless to have regular intercourse with my infected partner, applying Aldara or Codeline cream, and should I suspend intercourse until the condylomas disappear, and after recovery, give up oral sex and have classic sex only in a condom?
HPV can be found in the genital area and in the upper respiratory tract. Infection is spread through direct contact and the agent that reduces the risk of infection is a condom. It is impossible to avoid infection during oral sex. The course of the infection cannot be predicted. Very often the virus kills itself. Hence, even in the case of a partner infection, a condom should be used.
