My son from birth, and he is now 2 years and 2 months, has not slept a single night yet. He takes hourly naps during the day, but rarely. At night, he wakes up 3 to 5 times screaming, and sometimes he cannot be calmed down for a long time. He is very polite during the day. Sometimes I have the feeling that the night is a time to release. I am already very tired of this. the night played the role of reacting. I am already very tired of this, it is difficult for me to control myself. I would like to leave, but when I think that the little one will wake up and no one will be able to calm him down … Only I can do it, others tried, but to no avail. Will I not hurt him by my absence?
Sylwia! Since this has always been the case, you need to quickly find out the reasons for the described state of affairs. A he althy child who hardly sleeps during the day should sleep peacefully at night. After all, man has a constant need for sleep. I don't know what you call "well-behaved child." Does it mean "obedient" or "quiet, not very active, lethargic"? This is a fundamental difference. More information on this subject may be very important when assessing the area in which the cause of the trouble should be looked for. Waking up at night screaming (which indicates tension and anxiety) suggests that you should consult a child neurologist and psychiatrist as soon as possible. They are in charge of diagnosing the state of the nervous system and its functioning. Do not delay your baby's examination. You need to help him as soon as possible, and then you will also be able to rest. So far, it certainly won't hurt to give our son a calming lemon balm tea before the evening. You ask whether you will hurt your child by leaving. You can check it without coming to him when he screams at night. However, I think that you should first give your son a good night's sleep, and then think about leaving. Regardless of this, it would be good to start training with your child to fall asleep independently (e.g. with a cuddly toy). Regards. B.
