Hello! My 6-year-old daughter pisses her pampers almost every night. The ultrasound examination showed that after urinating, the bladder does not empty completely, and the left kidney is 1.5 cm smaller. I would like to add that sometimes during the day, when the child is playing, he leaks urine, and at night, even when he is not wearing a diaper, he does not wake up to pee, but sleeps and does not even feel wet. The nephrologist recommended staying in the hospital for observation. We have an even younger baby, 19 months old, and it is possible that this enuresis is psychological. I do not know what to do. Is a hospital stay necessary?
It may be a reaction to the appearance of a second baby or a disturbed function of the so-called lower urinary tract - that is, the bladder and urethra, or both, which gives a multiplication of the child's reaction. Abnormal function of the bladder and urethra, i.e. the so-called dysfunction, depends on many environmental factors that we do not pay attention to. They may be bad habits that you instilled in your child and related to inadequate fluid intake. Inappropriate posture to urinate develops a functional obstruction (increases the tension of the urethral sphincter), which will have the same consequences as a birth defect in the form of urethral stricture. You and your daughter should go to a specialist dealing with disorders in urination, who, by appropriate guidance for the performance of appropriate tests, will alleviate or heal the child's ailments.
