I am 19 years old, 170 cm tall and weigh about 68-69 kg. I have gained weight recently and everything is depositing in my thighs, hips and stomach. I also have a problem with plump arms, even when I weighed less, they slightly changed their weight. I would like to lose about 8 kg. What diet would be best for me? You may think that I am exaggerating, but with these kilos it is difficult for me …

Hello, indeed your BMI - body mass index, is normal as it is 23.7 kg / m2. However, BMI is not entirely reliable, because it does not even take into account body structure.

I don't know what type of build you represent (small or massive bones, whether you are muscular or not).

It would be worth examining the level of adipose tissue and then determining exactly how many kg you could reduce your body weight.

As for the distribution of tissue, the lower parts are characteristic of women, the so-called gynoid type (pear). Importantly, in the process of losing weight, we lose weight as a whole, and in order to shape the body, you should include exercise.

As for adjusting the diet, I have too little information about you. First of all, it is about your he alth and nutrition history, i.e. whether you have any metabolic disorders, take medications permanently and what, in what amounts and intervals you usually eat.

Physical activity is also important, because its lack or high intensity determines how much, what and how you should eat.

From very general advice, I can recommend 4-5 small meals (3 main and 1-2 snacks). Eating every 3-4 hours and not eating 2-3 hours before bedtime. It is worth paying attention to the qualitative composition of your menu. It should include vegetables (including legumes) and fruit (with fruit up to 300 g), lean dairy products, poultry, fish and whole grain products (wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, thick groats) and in small amounts nuts and seeds. For more details and a safe diet for you, please contact a dietitian. Best regards
